An ANNUAL SPRING OPEN HOUSE at MDC RANCH has become a tradition each May. Local merchants and families generously donate time, materials and gifts to make the day a wonderful event. Each year it gets bigger and better…..
But….this year (2011) it was a little different….
The Mounted Dream Center, Vocational Training program was recipient of the the Black Hat Foundation Award. Instead of our usual Ranch Open House, we attended the 20th annual ’Black and White Gala’ at Foothill Horizons. We had a fabulous dinner prepared by Seven Sisters and music with the Rod Harris Quartet. It was a beautiful event and with the generosity of all that attended, MDC Ranch will use the funds generated to expand it’s programs for local teens preparing for adulthood.

Thank You, Black Hat Foundation!
1. MDC Ranch expands all of its vocational training and life skills courses with additional options for the students. From student requests, we are now teaching sewing with the goal of producing items for sale.
2. A club called ‘Student Ingenuity’ is formed to teach entrepreneur skills associated with forming and maintaining a business.
3. A ‘Food Safety Class’ is offered to students seeking employment in the food industry.
4. The MDC Community Garden has a new look! After suffering the loss of several shade trees, the garden has transformed with the help of many community contributors! More seating, more options, and more comfort.
The transformation contributors are:
